Chemical Equation Balancer
Balance chemical equations automatically. Enter reactants and products to get balanced coefficients.

Use -> or = to separate reactants and products. Use + between compounds.

Examples

Balanced Equation
2H2 + O2 -> 2H2O
Coefficients

Reactants

  • 2 H2
  • 1 O2

Products

  • 2 H2O

How It Works

A balanced equation has equal numbers of each element on both sides. Coefficients are added in front of compounds to achieve balance.

Tips for writing equations:

  • Use standard element symbols (H, O, C, N, Fe, etc.)
  • Write subscripts as numbers (H2O, not H₂O)
  • Separate compounds with + signs
  • Use -> or = between reactants and products
